PiNEwOoD dERbY!!

This year was Talon's first "official" pinewood derby. His Grandma and Grandpa have been running pack meeting in their ward for years, so he has actually made a couple of cars and raced at their den meeting before. But this was the first pinewood derby since he has been in scouts.

Of course my camera battery was dead, so I got NO pictures during the derby. But my sarcastic little boy did pose for a few shots when we got home...

And of course, as he was modeling with his car, the baby sister had to get her little pink car to show off so she could be in the pictures too!!

No winning prizes for Talon but he did have a pretty fast little car. Apparently these races are so high-tech now that an outside company brought in the track and had all 6 lanes timed and computerized. Talon's pack had extremely fast cars, with the all time fastest time on that track being beat by a couple of boys. Talon's fastest time was pretty close to tying the all time record too. So he can't feel too bad about that!!! And he had a TON of fun designing and making it.
