HaDLee's TRauMaTIc ExPEriEnCE!

Hadlee had to have an MRI a couple of days ago (because of her whole "crazy eye" thing!), and as you can see she did not enjoy it. They had to start an IV so they could sedate her for it. It was pretty traumatic for her, she sat on my lap facing me and they pulled her arm over my shoulder and started the IV. They were really quick, only 1 try (hallelujah). Our little drama queen not only cried immediately over the IV start, but she had to continue crying off and on (mainly ON) for about 15-20 minutes...

Then finally she calmed down and had fun coloring...

But of course as soon as she decided life was okay again and could color in her new coloring book, they were ready to take her and sedate her. Another freak out moment because they had to touch her arm again and hook it up to the syringe of medication. She slept exactly like this, without moving at all for about 1 1/2 hours after the MRI...

SAY NO TO DRUGS...

The poor baby couldn't stand up or even crawl for about 4 hours after we got home. She was so grumpy because she wanted to get down and play, but couldn't even sit up to do it. They told us she may sleep a lot the rest of the day, but lucky us...she only slept on the way home. After that she was just drugged out and mad all day. The recovery nurse told us that she would exhibit some behaviors we should look for again in about 15 years after she comes home from a party !! Needless to say, we couldn't wait for bedtime :)

Awww....poor Hadlee! I remember Zyon had to be sedated when he was 3 or 4! He had to be carried home in his mom's lap! Couldn't sit up for hours....it was not funny....but we couldn't help stifling a laugh at the poor, drunken child! He was extrememly confused! Is everything OK?
