Talon's biggest fear for the whole surgery/recovery was getting the IV started. They "numbed" him up first with lidocaine (which "didn't even hurt"), then got the IV right in. He was SO nervous, but held still and was pleasantly surprised when it was over. Kind of like "what, that was it?". You should have heard the lady (ADULT LADY) next door getting her IV started after he left for surgery. She was seriously freaking out!! Anyway, here he is after the IV start, waiting for his ride to surgery...

He did great after surgery, woke up calm with almost NO pain (thanks anesthesiologist for medicating him before he woke up!!!) This picture is about an hour after we got home, after about 5 popsicles, thus the blue/green lips. He basically had the attitude "this was no big deal at all"!!
He has done well the whole time. Today is the 3rd day after surgery and he has started to act like he is having a little bit more pain. He didn't want to eat a whole lot today besides popsicles. But all of the sudden tonight he started feeling a little bit better and was acting like he might starve to death and started eating everything he could find (that I would let him eat). Overall this surgery has been WAY better than I expected. Hopefully it continues that way. He complains everyday that he is SO BORED and wants to go do something.
