Hadlee's Surgery

Hadlee had her long awaited surgery on Wednesday. It went a lot better than we expected (since she is just a little bit opinionated and fiesty!) I of course forgot to take my camera to the hospital, so these pictures were taken today, 2 days post-op. The pictures actually make it look better than it does. She looks like she got punched in the eye, a little bit of bruising underneath and a little bit swollen. But she actually has more damage to her face from before she even went in for surgery. She has a big scratch and bruise under her right eye (the "good" eye), and a big crater on her forehead (ever tried getting a 21 month old to stop picking at a scab?). The surgery went well, she did have a rough time waking up and threw up a couple of times at the hospital, but overall not bad. She was grumpy the day of surgery (more than the norm!) and almost back to normal the next day. I'll take the recovery from general anesthesia anyday over the sedation she had for the MRI. At least she could come home and walk and play this time...much better. Now we are just hoping it is fixed for good. They say there is always a chance they have to do the surgery twice. Let's hope not...I think our insurance company is hating us about right now!!
